Thanks for the comment, Stefi. I wasn’t talking specifically about Paolo Di Canio, but how neo-fascist and neo-nazi ideas are becoming acceptable to mainstream European politics.

I disagree, I’m far from a support of Italian neo-fascism but it isn’t necessarily racist, and Paolo Di Canio certainly isn’t a racist. Italian neo-fascists are adamantly opposed to Nazism, and pretty much regard it as perverting Italian fascism. Lots of neo-fascist say Mussolini biggest mistake was to be part of the Axis. With Lazio, I think neo-fascism is less a political ideology and more cultural identity.

My Dad made the point that so-called benefit cheats steal from the system because they have to, but the bankers and tax evaders do it out of greed.

Stealing out of greed is far worse than stealing out of necessity.

Yes, I find it disgusting that a girl with no criminal record who took a bottle of water from a shop that had already been looted was jailed for six weeks, while bankers can steal millions and just lose their jobs. How is that going to affect them personally? If they’re any good with money, they’ll have millions stashed away anyway.
